Ready or not, winter weather is upon us. Make sure you have enough layers and appropriate footwear as you head out on your runs this week. And of course headlamps and hi-visibility clothing are always in order when running after dark. We have some cold weather gear in the GMAA shop (link in bio) and Skirack has lots of options in their shop. GMAA members get a 15% discount on running shoes and merchandise @skirackvt

Here are the group runs for this week.

Tuesday: Meet at Echo on the Burlington waterfront at 5:45 PM for an out and back on the bike path along Lake Champlain.

Thursday: Track workout is on hold until indoor season starts up next week!

Friday: Run from the SkiRack at 9 AM! There will be an option for a 3 mile and a 6 mile route at a casual pace. Pick up some new gear or holiday gifts in the shop after the run.

Sunday: The Sunday Long Runs are back! Join us in collaboration with @richmondtrailrunningclub on Sunday Dec 3rd for an "easy ten" on the roads around Richmond. Mix of dirt road & pavement. This run is brought to you by @untappedmaple and we'll have lots of samples on hand for you to try. Meet at Volunteers Green at 8 AM. Various pace groups with no-drop policy. All are welcome. Regroup afterwards at Sweet Simone's for treats and fellowshipping.

Lots of social runs this week!

Wednesday (tonight) 6 PM Honey Hollow Trail - 5 miles with 1000' vert. No-drop pace.

Thursday 5:30 PM at Champlain School parking lot for a short no-drop run followed by pizza at Pizza 44 for end-of-season celebration. No track workout this week.

Friday Beer Run @foambrewers meet at 5:50 PM, run at 6 PM. Free live bluegrass music afterwards. Doors 7, music starting at 8 pm. Featuring Eugene Tyler Band @eugenetylerband

Sunday Massive Group Run - 9:45 AM Oakledge Park. A special joint group run with many running groups including Run with Jan, Fleet Feet, @skirackvt, First Strides, Team Arrowhead, @longtrailrunning, @richmondtrailrunningclub, @boltersrun etc. Paces and distance will vary. Meet up at Southend City Market afterwards for snacks and socializing.

Calling all volunteers and runners' friends! We're looking for volunteers to help with the Hills Are Alive 5k this Sunday in Milton. The race starts at 9:30, so we need volunteers to pitch in an hour or 2 from 9 to 11- partial shifts are dandy, too! Email race director Laura at hillsarealive@gmaa.run

Wednesday 6 PM Intervale Trails with Nik. Meet at parking area for Calkins Trail, 156 Intervale Rd, Burlington.

Thursday 5:45 PM at UVM outdoor track. Group workout with Coach Allen.

Friday 9 AM at Skirack. Group run around town with 3-mile and 6-mile options. Convenient time to pick up some new fall running gear. GMAA members get 15% discount!

Friday 5:50 PM at Zero Gravity. It's the "Second Friday Beer Run" with a casual pace and socializing afterwards.

Group runs and workouts are free and open to all. Hope to see you out there!

In 3 weeks the Champlain Islands Marathon and Half-marathon take place in beautiful South Hero, Vermont. The 2-loop course makes for excellent spectating and support for runners as they run past orchards, Lake Champlain, farms, and fall foliage.
