Our first race of 2023 is only 9 days away! Get ready to run! The 42nd GMAA Kaynor’s Sap Run is happening on Saturday, April 1st at 11:00 a.m. Join us for a certified 10K out-and-back on muddy, hilly country roads through rural Westford. Register now and don't miss out on the fun!

We're also looking for a few more volunteers to help make this event a success. Sign up today and be part of the excitement!

Group runs this week include:

TUESDAY - Meet at ECHO on the Burlington Waterfront at 5:45 PM for an out-and-back on the bike path along Lake Champlain

SATURDAY - Indoor Track Workout. 9 AM at UVM Gutterson Fieldhouse

SUNDAY - 8:00 AM from Volunteers Green in Richmond. 21 Miles from Richmond to Middlesex. Email Nik to RSVP for a ride back from Middlesex <president@gmaa.run>

Join us for Church of Long Run with @richmondtrailrunningclub starting at 8AM DST at Volunteers Green in Richmond.

We'll be doing a new loop this week that includes a short section of trail run (Johnny Brook) and a steep climb up Kenyon Rd. Head back towards the village on Hinesburg Rd but take a quick detour (right) on Cemetery Rd and left on Hillview. That loop is only ~8 miles so add on a chose-your-own-adventure out-and-back on Cochran Rd to get the distance you need for the day. (Link to Strava route in story)

Another note: several motorists complained about runners taking up the whole lane "As if to say, we have a right to be here." Obviously we have a right to use the roads but please be safe and help us maintain good relations with our neighbors by running single-file on the left-hand side of the road when traffic is coming.

Did you know all of the GMAA Group Runs are free and open to everyone? You don't have to be a member when you show up but you'll want to join the club when you find what a great deal it is at $20 / year!

The group run schedule this week is below.

Tuesday 5:45 PM at ECHO in Burlington - 6 miles out-and-back on Burlington bikepath led by Jess M.

Saturday 11 AM at UVM Indoor Track - group workout led by Coach Allen.

Sunday 8 AM at Volunteers Green in Richmond - Long Run Loop on backroads led by Nik P.

And our first race is coming right up! Kaynors Sap Run is a 10K in Westford on April 1st. Pre-registration is now open and it's only $15 (only $10 for members!)

There is LOTS of social running this week. Here’s the schedule:

Tuesday at 5:45 meet at the bike path near ECHO at the waterfront in Burlington for a social run. Course and distance determined at the time.

Friday Beer run! Gather at Simple Roots at 1127 North Ave. in Burlington at 5:50 for a 5.7 mile run, or a 5k. Beer afterwards.
Saturday at 9:00am workout at the UVM indoor track for warm weather jogging or a workout with coach Allen.

Saturday at 5:00pm is the GMAA annual banquet. Meet at the Catamount Country Club in Williston to feast and celebrate with runners. Get your ticket at www.GMAA.run

Sunday long run 8am from Volunteers Green in Richmond. Several routes and all paces welcome!
