GMAA holds virtual annual meeting. There were no GMAA holds virtual annual meeting.

There were no conga lines or champagne toasts, but the GMAA held its annual meeting Monday, February 1st to discuss the business of the club and to elect new board members. New board members are:

Nathan Doudera – treasurer. Nathan was previously an at-large member, and now takes the reins from the capable hands of Adam Bulakowski, who has kept us solvent despite the pandemic’s effects. Thank you, Adam, and Welcome Nathan!!

Page Tomlinson – apparel coordinator. Page takes over where Jess Cover left off and will keep us in stylish running gear for the next year. Thank you, Jess, and welcome Page!!

Brandon Majmudar – at large member. Brandon is relatively new to the club, so a big welcome from all of us!!

We are also seeking a Youth Programs coordinator. Damian and Jessica Bolduc ran the youth program for years, and have done fantastic work getting kids involved in running. A big thank you to you for your contributions, Jess and Damian! If anyone would like more information, please reach out to board chair Nik Ponzio or contact one of the Bolducs online.

Have a great second half of winter and keep on running. Spring is coming soon, and the pandemic is ending soon, too!
Ho! Ho! Ho! Holy Fast Marathon! John Stanton-Gedde Ho! Ho! Ho! Holy Fast Marathon! John Stanton-Geddes just ran a 2:45:09 marathon in a Santa suit for a new world record! He also raised $2,294 for @camptakumta in the process.
.
“What an amazing group these runners are!” he said of the donations. John had to run solo because the reindeer and elves are quarantining until Christmas eve, but he had a small support crew to encourage him and document the event. He said he “wasn’t quite sure it would happen.” But he finished with a smile.

We will be at UVM Gutterson Gym between 9:00 am and 11:00 am on Thanksgiving Day. We will be accepting non-perishable food items and/or financial donations. Please wear a mask and practice appropriate physical distancing.

Considering the increased community need and food insecurity resulting from the pandemic, our goal is to bring in as much food this year as we have the last three years combined. Help us get there!

A local business has offered to match up to $1,000 of donations so please pitch in of you are able. Any amount is welcome!

See our race page for more details. Link in bio.
44th Annual GMAA Turkey Trot Food Drive! Thanks 44th Annual GMAA Turkey Trot Food Drive!

Thanksgiving Day – November 26, 2020

Even though we can’t “trot” together this year, we can still collect food and fundraise for Feeding Chittenden on Thanksgiving Day.

We will be at our usual gathering spot in front of Gutterson Gym at UVM (97 Spear Street, Burlington) on Thanksgiving morning from 9:00 to 11:00 to collect non-perishable food items.

Our hope is to bring in as much food this year as we have the last three years combined considering the increased need and food insecurity resulting from the pandemic.

So please, grab your mask and run, drive, or skateboard to UVM with your food donations on Thanksgiving morning between 9 – 11:00, and make 2020 a Thanksgiving to remember.
